Dennis Dexter Haysbert is an American actor known for his roles in the Major League film trilogy as baseball player Pedro Cerrano, as well as Secret Service agent Tim Collin in Absolute Power, Sergeant Major Jonas Blane on The Unit, God on Lucifer, and President David Palmer on 24. He has also appeared in Love Field, Heat, Waiting to Exhale, Far from Heaven, and the series Incorporated. Haysbert was born in San Mateo, California, and is the eighth of nine children. He graduated from San Mateo High School in 1972 and was offered athletic scholarships due to his 6 ft 5 in height.
