Derek Sitter
Derek Sitter (born September 4, 1967) is an American filmmaker, actor, and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founding owner of the Volcanic Theatre Pub in Bend, Oregon. Born and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma, Sitter initially planned to join the Air Force but changed course to pursue a career in the performing arts. In 1986, he and his friends won prize money for their rendition of Twisted Sister's 'I Wanna Rock' on Puttin' on the Hits. Sitter holds a double degree in Communications and Advertising from Northeastern State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from LSU. He is also an elected lifetime member of the Actors Studio. Sitter's notable work includes his nomination for an Ovation Award in 2001 for his role in The Dead Boy by Joseph Pintauro.
