Dermot Crowley (born 19 March 1947) is an Irish stage, film and television actor. He gained recognition for his leading role in Conor McPherson's The Weir, a production that received an Olivier Award. Crowley made his television debut in the UK series Victorian Scandals in 1976, portraying George Bernard Shaw. Throughout his career, he has appeared in various TV shows such as Father Ted, Dangerfield, Jonathan Creek, A Touch of Frost, Holby City, The Bill, Midsomer Murders, and Luther. Notably, he played General Crix Madine in Return of the Jedi and Sgt. François Duval in Son of the Pink Panther. In 2011, Crowley received the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Featured Performance for his work in The Cripple of Inishmaan.
