Desmond Barrit

Desmond Barrit (born October 19, 1944) is a Welsh actor known for his stage work. He was born in Morriston, Swansea, Wales, UK. Barrit has had notable roles in various productions, including playing Humpty Dumpty in Alice through the Looking Glass (1998), Shylock in The Merchant of Venice at Chichester Festival Theatre (2003), and Hector in The History Boys at Wyndham's Theatre (2007). He also appeared in a limited-run revival of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at the Royal National Theatre (2004), which was nominated for an Olivier Award.
