Devin Kawaoka

Devin Kawaoka (born c. 1983) is an American actor known for his appearances in various television shows and plays. He gained recognition for his role as Charlie on the Apple TV+ series 'Shrinking' and as Dr. Kai Tanaka-Reed on 'Chicago Med.' Kawaoka, who is of half-Japanese descent, grew up in Rochester, New York, and attended Brighton High School. He pursued his passion for acting at New York University, where he graduated from the Graduate Acting Program on a full merit scholarship. Kawaoka's notable stage performances include his work in Jeremy O. Harris' 'Slave Play' on Broadway and at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Currently, he continues to portray Dr. Kai Tanaka-Reed on 'Chicago Med' and Charlie on 'Shrinking.'
