Diablo Cody

Diablo Cody, born Brook Maurio on June 14, 1978, is an American writer, producer, and director. She gained recognition through her candid blog and memoir, Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper (2005). Cody's screenwriting debut film, Juno (2007), received critical acclaim and won her the Academy Award and BAFTA Award. She went on to write, produce, and direct the comedy drama film Paradise (2013). Cody has also written and produced other notable films like Jennifer's Body (2009), Young Adult (2011), Ricki and the Flash (2015), and Tully (2018). In addition, she created and produced the comedy drama series United States of Tara (2009–2011) and the Amazon Prime series One Mississippi (2015–2017). Cody's achievements extend to the theater, where she made her Broadway debut with the Tony Award-winning musical Jagged Little Pill, for which she wrote the book.
