Diana Gabaldon

Diana J. Gabaldon is an American author, born on January 11, 1952, in Williams, Arizona. She is best known for her Outlander series of novels, which blend historical fiction, romance, mystery, adventure, and science fiction/fantasy. The books have gained immense popularity and have been adapted into a television series that premiered on Starz in 2014. Gabaldon's father, Tony Gabaldon, was an Arizona state senator, and her mother, Jacqueline Sykes, had English ancestry. She grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, and holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from Northern Arizona University, a master's degree in marine biology from the University of California, San Diego, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and a PhD in behavioral ecology from Northern Arizona University.
