Diana Rigg Biography
Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg (20 July 1938–10 September 2020) was an English actress known for her roles in both stage and screen. She gained international recognition for her portrayal of Emma Peel in the TV series The Avengers (1965–1968) and Countess Teresa di Vicenzo in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), as well as her role as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones (2013–2017). Rigg's career spanned over six decades, and she received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award for her role in Medea. She was appointed a CBE in 1988 and was later honored as a Dame in 1994 for her contributions to the field of drama.
