Diana Scarwid is an American actress known for her versatile performances in film and television. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Christina Crawford in the critically acclaimed film Mommie Dearest (1981). Scarwid received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Inside Moves (1980) and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Truman (1995). With over 70 film and television credits, her notable works include Pretty Baby (1978), Rumble Fish (1983), Silkwood (1983), Psycho III (1986), and Another Happy Day (2011). Scarwid was born in Savannah, Georgia, and pursued her acting career after graduating from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Pace University.
