Diane Fletcher Biography
Diane Fletcher is an English actress, born on April 17, 1944, in Derby, England. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and graduated in 1966. Fletcher has appeared in various popular British television shows including Coronation Street as Angela Hawthorne (1994-1995, 2005), Inspector Morse, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Within These Walls, Midsomer Murders, and Heartbeat. She made her film debut in Roman Polanski's Macbeth. In 1996, she appeared in Agatha Christie's Poirot episode 'Murder in the Links' as Eloise Renauld. Other notable TV appearances include Midsomer Murders episode 'Death of a Stranger' and Aristocrats. Fletcher portrayed Elizabeth Urquhart in the BBC adaptation of House of Cards and its sequels, To Play the King and The Final Cut, as the wife of Francis Urquhart, the Chief Whip of the Conservative Party and later Prime Minister.
