Diane Kruger, born Diane Heidkrüger on July 15, 1976, is a German actress known for her versatile roles in film and television. She gained worldwide recognition early in her career and received the Trophée Chopard from the Cannes Film Festival. Kruger has appeared in various notable films, including the epic war film Troy (2004), the heist film National Treasure (2004) and its sequel, and Quentin Tarantino's war film Inglourious Basterds (2009). She also starred in the FX crime drama series The Bridge (2013-2014) as Detective Sonya Cross. In 2017, she made her German-language debut in In the Fade, winning the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress. Kruger was honored as an Officer of France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2014.
