Diarmaid Murtagh (born 28 July 1982) is an Irish actor known for his roles in various movies and TV shows. He gained recognition for portraying Leif in the historical drama series Vikings (2013). In 2014, he played Dimitri in Dracula Untold and Captain Harpen in The Monuments Men. Murtagh was born on 28 July 1982 in Kingscourt, Republic of Ireland. He made his first appearance in the Irish soap opera Ros na Rún in 2007. His film debut was as Captain Harpen in George Clooney's war film The Monuments Men. He also portrayed convict Frank Mitchell in The Krays' Mad Axeman (2019). Currently, he stars as Hermes, messenger of Olympus, in Troy: Fall of a City and as Connor in the Netflix sci-fi drama The One.
