Dick Smothers is an American actor, comedian, composer, and musician. He is best known for being half of the musical comedy team the Smothers Brothers, alongside his older brother Tom. Born on November 20, 1938, in New York City, Smothers attended Verdugo Hills High School and Redondo Union High School before studying at San José State University. The Smothers Brothers gained fame through their appearances on various television shows, including their own sitcom 'The Smothers Brothers Show' from 1965 to 1966, and the variety show 'The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour' in 1967. Smothers has also made appearances as a panelist on several other TV shows.
