Dina Merrill (1923-2017) was an American actress, heiress, socialite, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Born on December 29, 1923, in New York City, she was the daughter of Marjorie Merriweather Post, heiress to Post Cereals, and Edward Francis Hutton, founder of E. F. Hutton & Co. Merrill had two older half-sisters, Adelaide Brevoort Close and Eleanor Post Hutton. She attended Miss Porter's School and later studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, under Uta Hagen at HB Studio. Merrill appeared in various movies and TV shows throughout her career, showcasing her talent and versatility as an actress.
