Dirk Benedict Biography
Dirk Benedict (born Dirk Niewoehner) is an American actor and author. He gained recognition for his roles as Lieutenant Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica film and television series, and as Templeton 'Faceman' Peck in The A-Team television series. Benedict was born in Helena, Montana in 1945 and grew up in White Sulphur Springs. He graduated from Whitman College in 1967. His film debut was in the 1972 film Georgia, Georgia. Benedict is also the author of the book Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy and And Then We Went Fishing. He chose his stage name after having Eggs Benedict. Benedict has German ancestry.
