Dmitry Medvedev

Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev is a Russian politician who served as the president of Russia from 2008 to 2012 and as the prime minister of Russia from 2012 to 2020. Born on September 14, 1965, Medvedev is currently serving as the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia since 2020. During his presidency, Medvedev focused on implementing a modernization program to improve Russia's economy and society, reducing the country's dependence on oil and gas. Notable achievements during his tenure include signing the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty with the United States, Russia's victory in the Russo-Georgian War, and leading the country's recovery from the Great Recession.
