DMX, born Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 – April 9, 2021), was an American rapper and actor. Known for his aggressive rapping style, he was a prominent figure in 2000s hip hop. DMX released his critically acclaimed debut album 'It's Dark and Hell Is Hot' in 1998, selling 251,000 copies within its first week. He achieved commercial success with his best-selling album '... And Then There Was X' in 1999, which included the hit single 'Party Up (Up in Here)'. With over 74 million records sold worldwide, DMX was the first artist to debut five albums at No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts.
