Dolores Sutton Biography
Dolores Sutton (born Dolores Lila Silverstein, February 4, 1927 – May 11, 2009) was an American actress, writer, and playwright known for her work in television, stage, and movies. She had a career that spanned seven decades, showcasing her versatility and talent. Sutton was born in New York City, graduating from New York University in 1948 with a B.A. in philosophy. Her breakthrough came in 1960 when she was chosen by playwright Sophie Treadwell to play the female lead in a revival of Machinal. Sutton also worked as a playwright, adapting Thomas Wolfe's The Web and the Rock for the stage. She had notable Broadway credits, including Rhinoceros (1961), General Seeger (1962), and My Fair Lady (1993).
