Dominic Edward Cooper is an English actor known for his roles in various film and television productions. Born on June 2, 1978, Cooper gained recognition for his portrayal of Jesse Custer in the AMC show Preacher from 2016 to 2019. He also played the character of young Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in films like Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and the TV series Agent Carter (2015–16). Cooper's notable film credits include Mamma Mia! (2008) and its sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018). He began his career with significant roles in productions by the Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, and he received critical acclaim for his role in the play The History Boys (2004).
