Don Keefer Biography
Donald Hood Keefer (August 18, 1916 – September 7, 2014) was an American actor known for his versatility in performing comedic, as well as highly dramatic, roles. He appeared in hundreds of stage, film, and television productions over a career spanning more than 50 years. Keefer was a founding member of The Actors Studio and had notable roles in the original Broadway play and the 1951 film adaptation of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. On television, he appeared in 10 episodes each of Gunsmoke and Angel. Born in Highspire, Pennsylvania, in 1916, Keefer graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1939 and started his career performing in Shakespearean plays.
