He is known for his frequent collaborations with director Christopher Guest and his close friendship with Bonnie Hunt. Lake gained comedic recognition for his role in The Bonnie Hunt Show and has appeared in various comedy films such as Police Academy, Hot Shots!, Dumb & Dumber To, and Corner Gas: The Movie.
