Donal Donnelly (6 July 1931 – 4 January 2010) was an Irish theatre and film actor. He had a long and varied career in film, television, and theatre, with notable work in the plays of Brian Friel. Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, to Irish parents, Donnelly was raised in Dublin. He attended Synge Street Christian Brothers School, where he acted in school plays alongside notable actors such as Milo O'Shea and Jack MacGowran. Donnelly began his career in an amateur group called the Globe Theatre Players before going on to have a successful acting career in Ireland, the UK, and the US.
