Sir Donald Alfred Sinden (1923-2014) was a British actor known for his work in film, theatre, and television. Born in St Budeaux, Plymouth, Devon, Sinden began his career as a film star in the 1950s, featuring in movies such as 'Mogambo' (1953) and 'The Cruel Sea' (1953). He gained recognition for his award-winning Shakespearean performances and became a prominent figure in the West End theatre. Sinden received critical acclaim for his role in 'King Lear,' winning the 1977 Evening Standard Award for Best Actor. He also appeared in popular sitcoms like 'Two's Company' (1975-1979) and 'Never the Twain' (1981-1991).
