    Donna Douglas (1932-2015) was an American actress and singer best known for her role as Elly May Clampett on the television show The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971). Born as Doris Ione Smith in Pride, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Emmett Ratcliff Smith Sr. and Elma Robinson. After her acting career, Douglas became a real estate agent, gospel singer, inspirational speaker, and author. She attended St. Gerard Catholic High School and was named Miss Baton Rouge and Miss New Orleans in 1957. Douglas later moved to New York City and began her career as an illustration model. Throughout her life, she made significant contributions to the entertainment industry and touched the lives of many.
