Donna Lynne Champlin is an American actress, dancer, and singer born on January 21, 1971, in Rochester, New York. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Paula Proctor in The CW comedy-drama series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Champlin began her artistic journey at a young age, participating in various voice, piano, flute, theatre, and dance competitions. She attended Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a BFA in musical theatre in 1993. Champlin's talent was recognized early on, and she received the Princess Grace Foundation Award in Theatre in 1992. Her Broadway debut came in the title role of Very Warm for May, and she has since performed in acclaimed productions such as James Joyce's The Dead, By Jeeves, Hollywood Arms, and Sweeney Todd.
