Doris May Roberts (Green; November 4, 1925 – April 17, 2016) was an American actress known for her extensive work in television and film. With a career spanning seven decades, she received five Emmy Awards and a Screen Actors Guild award. Roberts began her acting career in 1951 after studying at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. She appeared in numerous films, including notable roles in The Honeymoon Killers (1970), Little Murders (1971), and Rabbit Test (1978). However, Roberts achieved significant success in television, particularly for her portrayal of Mildred Krebs in Remington Steele (1983-1987) and Marie Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond (1996-2005).
