Dot-Marie Jones, born January 4, 1964, is an American actress and retired athlete known for her roles in multiple television shows. She attended California State University, Fresno, where she set records for shot put and became a 15-time world arm wrestling champion. Jones gained recognition for her recurring role as Coach Beiste in the musical series Glee, appearing from the second season until the final season, where she was promoted to a starring role. She received Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Coach Beiste in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Jones has also appeared as Coach Kelly in Lizzie McGuire and as Butch Brenda in Material Girls.
