Doug Ellin is an American podcaster, screenwriter, and film and TV director. He is best known as the creator of the HBO television series Entourage, where he served as executive producer, director, head writer, and supporting actor. Ellin was born on April 6, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Merrick, New York. He attended Tulane University. Before his work on Entourage, Ellin was a staff writer for the TV series Life with Bonnie. He has also written screenplays for films such as Kissing a Fool and Phat Beach. Ellin began his career in the mail room at New Line Cinema and became friends with film producer Mike DeLuca, who supported his career.
