Doug Stone, born Douglas Jackson Brooks on June 19, 1956, is an American country music singer and actor. He gained popularity in 1990 with his debut single 'I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box)', which was featured on his self-titled debut album released by Epic Records. The album and his second release, 'I Thought It Was You' (1991), achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Stone's albums 'From the Heart' (1992) and 'More Love' (1994) both earned gold certifications. He later recorded albums for Columbia Records, Atlantic Records, and Audium label. Throughout his career, Stone has charted twenty-six singles on the Hot Country Songs chart.
