Dougie Poynter is an English musician, songwriter, fashion model, aspiring clothing designer, children's author, and actor. Born on November 30, 1987, in Orsett, Essex, England, Poynter attended Herd Lane Primary School and Gable Hall School. At the age of 15, he auditioned for and became the bassist of the pop rock band McFly, alongside Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, and Harry Judd. McFly gained fame with their debut single, 'Five Colours in Her Hair,' which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in April 2004. Their first album, 'Room on the 3rd Floor,' also topped the UK Albums Chart, making McFly the youngest band to achieve this. Poynter continues to be an active member of McFly while pursuing other creative ventures.
