Downtown Julie Brown

Julie Dorne Brown, better known as Downtown Julie Brown, is an English-born actress, television personality, and former MTV VJ. She gained prominence as the host of the television music show Club MTV, which aired from 1987 to 1992. Brown's father was Jamaican and her mother British, and she grew up on air force bases around the world before settling in Bridgend, Wales. She started her career by winning the UK Disco Dancing Championships and later became the World Disco Dancing Champion in 1979. Brown also appeared on various British TV shows and worked as a presenter on the pan-European music channel Music Box. Currently, she is a SiriusXM DJ.
