Drummond Erskine (1919-2009) was an American character actor known for his appearances in over 75 films spanning a career of more than 50 years. He gained recognition in his later years for his cameo appearances on various television shows, including a recurring parody of an aging Regis Philbin on the Late Show with David Letterman. Born in Manhattan, Erskine attended private schools before enlisting in the United States Army during World War II. He served as a trainer with the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment and was trained in jumping and operating gliders. Erskine's contributions to the entertainment industry were extensive and varied.
