Dwight Hicks Biography
Dwight Hicks (born April 5, 1956) is an American former professional football player who played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts. He won two Super Bowls with the 49ers and earned four Pro Bowl selections during his career. Hicks began his pro career with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1978 before joining the 49ers in 1979. He played seven seasons with San Francisco and finished his career with the Colts in 1986. Hicks played college football for the Michigan Wolverines. Prior to his professional career, he played for Pennsauken High School in New Jersey and led the team to a 9-1 record in 1972. Hicks is also known for his versatility, having played safety, punt returner, and wolfman during his time at the University of Michigan.
