Dwight Howard, born December 8, 1985, is an American professional basketball player. He is known for his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) where he played as a center. Howard has achieved many accolades throughout his career, including being an NBA champion, eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year. He started his NBA journey with the Orlando Magic after being selected first overall in the 2004 NBA draft. Howard set numerous franchise and league records with the Magic, leading them to the 2009 NBA Finals. He has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and Washington Wizards.
