Dwight Eugene Stephenson is an American former professional football player who played as a center for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL from 1980 to 1987. Born on November 20, 1957, in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, Stephenson played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he was regarded as one of the best centers in the history of the game. He was a key player in Alabama's back-to-back national championship wins in 1978 and 1979. In 1998, Stephenson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
