Eartha Kitt (1927-2008) was an American singer and actress known for her unique singing style. She gained popularity in the early 1950s with hits like "Uska Dara" and "I Want to Be Evil," and recorded the well-known songs "C'est si bon" and "Santa Baby." Kitt appeared in the original Broadway production of the musical Carib Song in 1945. She also had success with songs like "Under the Bridges of Paris" and "Just an Old Fashioned Girl." In 1967, she portrayed Catwoman in the final season of the TV series Batman. Kitt made a successful return to Broadway in 1978 with the musical Timbuktu!.
