Edie Brickell Biography
Edie Arlisa Brickell, born March 10, 1966, is an American singer-songwriter. She gained recognition as the lead singer of the folk rock group Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. Brickell's debut album with the band, 'Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars' released in 1988, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard albums chart. Born in Dallas, Texas, Brickell attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before pursuing her music career. She later studied at Southern Methodist University but decided to focus on songwriting after joining the band. Brickell is married to singer-songwriter Paul Simon.
