Eleanor Holmes Norton

Eleanor Holmes Norton (born June 13, 1937) is an American lawyer and politician serving as a delegate to the United States House of Representatives, representing the District of Columbia since 1991. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Born in Washington, D.C., Norton attended Antioch College, Yale University, and Yale Law School. She was actively involved in the civil rights movement, organizing and participating in sit-ins. Norton has a strong background in education and civil service. Throughout her career, she has been a dedicated advocate for the rights and representation of the District of Columbia. Norton continues to serve her constituents and champion various causes in the House of Representatives.
