Elise Marie Stefanik is an American politician and U.S. Representative for New York's 21st congressional district since 2015. Born on July 2, 1984, she became the youngest woman elected to Congress at the age of 30 in 2014. Stefanik's district covers a significant portion of the North Country, the Adirondack Mountains, and some suburbs of Utica and the Capital District. She currently holds the position of Chair of the House Republican Conference, making her the fourth-ranking House Republican. Throughout her career, Stefanik has shifted towards the political right and aligned herself with former President Donald Trump. She strongly opposed Trump's first impeachment and supported his efforts to contest the 2020 presidential election results.
