Elissa Slotkin

Elissa Blair Slotkin is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. Born on July 10, 1976, in New York City, Slotkin currently serves as the U.S. representative from Michigan's 7th congressional district, a position she has held since 2019. Prior to her political career, Slotkin worked as a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst and Department of Defense official. She is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate in the 2024 election. Slotkin comes from a Jewish background and spent her early life on a farm in Holly, Michigan, which was part of the Hygrade Meat Company, founded by her grandfather. Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills is her alma mater.
