Elizabeth Hubbard
Elizabeth Hubbard (December 22, 1933 – April 8, 2023) was an American actress known for her roles on popular soap operas. She portrayed Althea Davis on the NBC daytime soap opera, The Doctors, from 1964 to 1978 and again from 1981 to 1982, earning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1974. Hubbard also became well-known for her portrayal of businesswoman Lucinda Walsh on the CBS soap opera, As the World Turns, from 1984 to 2010, receiving eight Daytime Emmy Award nominations. With an impressive career, she appeared in films like I Never Sang for My Father (1970), The Bell Jar (1979), and Ordinary People (1980). Hubbard was also recognized for her Emmy-winning performance as former First Lady Edith Wilson in the television film First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson (1976). Born in New York City on December 22, 1933, Hubbard's mother was a pioneering physician in homeopathy, and she had two brothers.
