Marvel has portrayed characters such as Det. Nancy Parras on The District, Solicitor General Heather Dunbar on House of Cards, and President Elizabeth Keane on Homeland. Her film credits include Burn After Reading, Synecdoche, New York, True Grit, Lincoln (alongside husband Bill Camp), and The Meyerowitz Stories. She has also appeared in the FX series Fargo and the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable. Marvel's stage career has been extensive, starting with off-Broadway plays in the early 1990s.
