Elizabeth Helen McRae (née Kersley) is a New Zealand actress, born on August 1, 1936. She is best known for her role as Marjorie Brasch (née Neilson) in the popular television soap opera Shortland Street. In the last decade, she has gained recognition for her portrayal of Jean Marlowe in the internationally distributed TV series The Brokenwood Mysteries. McRae attended Wellington Girls' College from 1950 to 1954, where she served as head prefect in her final year. She graduated from Victoria University College in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. McRae's career started in theater, with her first role in Nola Millar's production of Richard II in 1955. She made her television debut in 1974 on the NZBC's children's mini-series The Games Affair and has since appeared in various New Zealand television programs.
