Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor (born February 27, 1932, died March 23, 2011) was a British and American actress. She began her career as a child actress in the 1940s and rose to prominence as one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s. Taylor became the highest-paid movie star in the 1960s and remained a well-known public figure throughout her life. She is known for her roles in films such as National Velvet (1944) and Father of the Bride (1950). In recognition of her contributions to the film industry, Taylor was named the seventh-greatest female screen legend of Classic Hollywood cinema by the American Film Institute in 1999.
