    Elizabeth Anne Vargas (born September 6, 1962) is an American television journalist. She is currently the lead investigative reporter/documentary anchor for A&E Networks, and the host of Fox's revival of America's Most Wanted. Vargas previously served as an anchor for ABC's television newsmagazine 20/20 and ABC News specials for 14 years. She also anchors Elizabeth Vargas Reports for NewsNation. In 2006, Vargas co-anchored World News Tonight alongside Bob Woodruff. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Vargas is the daughter of an Italian-Spanish father and an Irish-American mother. She has two siblings, Amy and Christopher, both of whom work in tech in Silicon Valley. Vargas' father was a U.S. Army captain, and the family moved to Okinawa when she was four years old.
