Ellen Albertini Dow (November 16, 1913 – May 4, 2015) was an American film and television character actress and drama coach. She gained recognition for portraying feisty old ladies in various films and TV shows. Dow is best known for her role as the rapping grandmother, Rosie, in the film 'The Wedding Singer' (1998), where she performed 'Rapper's Delight'. She also appeared in other notable films such as 'Wedding Crashers', '54', 'Radioland Murders', and 'Sister Act'. On television, Dow made guest appearances on sitcoms like 'The Golden Girls' and 'Will & Grace'. Born in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, she studied dance and piano and later moved to New York City to pursue her career.
