Ellen Geer Biography
Ellen Geer is an American actress, professor, and theatre director. She was born in New York City, the daughter of actors Herta Ware and Will Geer. Geer joined the Minnesota Theatre Company in 1963 and played the lead in Tyrone Guthrie's production of Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan. She began her film career with appearances in movies such as Petulia and The Reivers alongside her father. In 1971, Geer became a regular on the television show Kotch, playing the deceased wife of the lead character in flashbacks. She is married to children's musician Peter Alsop and has been previously married to actor Ed Flanders. Geer has three children, Ian, Megan, and Willow.
