Elliott Gould (né Goldstein; born August 29, 1938) is an American actor with a career spanning over 7 decades. He began acting in Hollywood films during the 1960s. Gould gained recognition for his breakthrough role in the film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He went on to star in the popular Robert Altman film M*A*S*H (1970), receiving additional nominations for BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards. Gould collaborated with Altman on several projects, including The Long Goodbye (1973) and California Split (1974). His notable film credits also include Little Murders (1971), The Touch (1971), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Capricorn One (1978), Bugsy (1991), American History X (1998), and Contagion (2011). Gould is also known for his role as Reuben Tishkoff in the Ocean's film series.
