Elmarie Wendel

Elmarie Louise Wendel (November 23, 1928 – c. July 21, 2018) was an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Mamie Dubcek on the NBC sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. Born on a farm in Howard County, Iowa, Wendel began her career as a performer, traveling with her musical parents and dancing with her sisters in various venues. She eventually moved to New York City where she appeared in the original off-Broadway production of Little Mary Sunshine. Wendel later transitioned into film and television, appearing in about 70 episodes of 3rd Rock from the Sun and making guest appearances on shows like Seinfeld, Love & War, and Murder, She Wrote.
