Emilio Rivera

Emilio Rivera (born February 24, 1961) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Marcus Álvarez in the popular TV series Sons of Anarchy and its spin-off, Mayans M.C. Rivera has gained recognition for his portrayal of both criminals and law enforcement officers. He is of Mexican descent and was raised in the neighborhood of Elysian Valley in Los Angeles, California. Rivera discovered his passion for acting when he performed in a theater production of Rumpelstiltskin and realized he did not stutter while on stage. Despite initial discouragement from his father, he pursued a career in acting. Rivera also served in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. He has had a successful career in film and television, with his first major role in the TV series Renegade.
